Chama is ideally situated within a day’s travel of many popular attractions from Taos to Mesa Verde, from Sandia Peak to the springs at Pagosa. We hope you will consider using our park as the base of your next southwestern vacation.
Wildlife abounds nearby with exceptional bird watching within the park. Enjoy fishing along the 1800 feet of adjoining river frontage. If you are new to the area, check out our birding gallery.
The Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad is adjacent to the RV park and railroad fans can enjoy watching the famous steam train pass by the park each morning and evening crossing the Rio Chama bridge. Whether riding the train, or just taking pictures of the world’s finest collection of historic rail cars, the historic Chama yard of the C&TS is jus a short walk from the park. If you discover an interest in railroading, contact the Friends of the C&TS to volunteer.
